The distance of the Moon from us varies, as it orbits around our planet, with an average distance to be about 240,000 miles. It takes the Moon 1 month, to go around the Earth. In fact, that is where our notion of a “month” comes from.

If there was a highway from our planet to our moon, it would actually take less than a lifetime to get there; given, of course, that this highway had all the things needed to upkeep a car to an old mileage of 240,000 miles, as well as fast food restaurants whenever you got hungry. Going at US highway speeds, it would take about 154 days to get there on a car. But wait, you would probably need 8 hours of sleep each day. Let's allow 205 days for the trip, plus a few days for car maintenance and repairs, plus some time for rest stops.
